From my experience in skincare, acne is one of the most common concerns clients share with me. I often explain that acne can have different triggers, so understanding the possible cause is an important first step rather than simply trying multiple products.
One common factor is excess oil production, which can contribute to clogged pores. Hormonal changes can also influence breakouts, particularly during certain stages of life. Another factor is the use of comedogenic or unsuitable skincare and hair-care products, which may contribute to clogged pores for some people.
I also remind my clients that stress and lifestyle factors can sometimes influence the skin, while frequently touching the face or not cleaning items that regularly contact the skin may contribute to irritation or breakouts.
When managing acne, I prefer to keep the routine simple and consistent. Gentle cleansing, suitable moisturising, and daily sunscreen are important basics. I also advise clients not to pick or squeeze pimples, as this can increase the risk of marks and scarring.
For me, skincare should always be personalised. If acne is persistent, painful, severe, or leaving scars, I recommend consulting a qualified dermatologist for proper assessment and treatment.
My goal is not to promise an overnight solution, but to help each client understand their skin and follow a routine that supports healthier-looking, more balanced skin over time.
